“I really like the energy in the class”

Some classes are difficult, breezy, fun, or only taken for the credit. Each student has a different opinion about what the best class is. But what makes this class their favorite? Is it the teacher, the activities, their friends, or a few different things?

“My favorite class is Alge- bra III because of the teach- er, Ms. Ramirez. She’s cool, she’s caring.” – senior Anthony Quepons     “My favorite class is Theater Production, a class that we use to specifically put on plays and shows. It’s my favorite class because I get to do what I love, with folks who also love what they’re doing. I’m looking forward to our One Act process that we do in the spring, in which we will be putting on a competing show with our cast and crew entirely made up of people in my class.” – senior Sean Monroe                                                                                            “Right now, my favorite class is English II. My teacher, Ms. Berry is one of the main reasons. She’s in- teresting and patient. I also like the other students in my class and the material is easy to understand.” – sophomore Matilda Busch                                          “Math 180 is my favorite class. It basically helps me progress in my math abil- ities because for a while I wasn’t very good at it. I’m looking forward to making good grades, and hopefully getting out of the class soon, even though it is my favorite.” – freshman Nathaniel Hamra                                                                                  “Right now my favorite class is probably AP U.S. History. Mr. Blanchard, my teacher, is pretty funny. He really helps make the class fun and interesting while always helping us when we need it. I don’t think it would be my favorite class if I had a different teach- er. In this class we do a lot of notes, discussions, and writings, but it’s not too much or too little. I feel like it prepares us for what we need to know.” – junior Lauren Adams                            My favorite class would be Public Safety and Law. I like learning about our rights. My teacher Mr. St. Pierre is really fun, energetic and enthusiastic about teaching. I like the energy in the class.” – freshman Uma Santiago                                                                              “I really like Theatre II. Everyone in there is really positive and loud. Right now, we are learning about improv, which is how to act without a script or rehearsal. I’m really looking forward to getting to know my classmates better.” – junior Zoe Daniel            “My favorite class right now is AP African American studies. I just feel like it’s just so wholesome, and provides so much perspective about histories that the majority of people don’t pay attention to. Or histories that have been neglect- ed for a really long time. The class itself is nice and filled with people who are interested in being there and discovering the narrative. And of course the teacher, Ms. Brown is one of my favorite people.” – sophomore Lana Kamel
