As if this year has not been hard enough, everyone is expecting to get gifts for Christmas that somehow are gonna fix 2020. The issue here is not the asking for the magical gifts, because trust me I’m asking for them too, it’s actually having to find and give the gifts.

But after many days of scrolling through TikTok, I have entered the bank emptying side, the GiftTok side. This revelation has helped me tremendously with finding gifts for everyone from loved ones to the random girl who says hi to me in the hallway and always gives me a gift so I have to give her one too. So I am here to save you the trouble of finding the magical gift while also saving your bank account. 

First off we got to knock out the basics, mom and dad gifts, specifically the ones who “don’t need anything.” AlexMicahArt on Etsy creates custom house paintings of your family home  starting at $20 and depending on the size the price can go up. This is an amazing gift that definitely will bring out the tears and memories for not only your parents but for you too. 

Next up we have grandparents. Now, I’m gonna try to say this as nicely as possible, but the elderly tend to be a little hard to impress when it comes to gifts but this one they will love. CVS, Walgreens, and Shutterfly make custom photo puzzles. It’s super easy to do through their apps and ranges from $25 to $50 depending on the size. It takes a few weeks to make, but it’s worth the wait. 

Siblings can be an easy gift if done right. The trick is to know if it needs to be a funny gag gift or a sweet memorable one. And based on the year that we have had I think they could use a fun gag gift. Something really funny could be a mini-golf set for the restroom on nights when they had too much taco bell. This can be found at Walmart for about $12. This could also be an awesome white elephant or secret Santa gift.

When it comes to shopping for your significant other, boyfriend, girlfriend, etc. it’s important to not make it look like you just went to Target and found something in the dollar section. These gifts need to be memorable and unique.

Now guys (especially new boyfriends) are a whole different ball game when it comes to shopping for them. But the same rule still applies that it needs to be memorable and unique. The little kids in the family seem to be the easiest out of all because they start their list months in advance. But it always seems to be just a toy, never a memorable gift. On Etsy, LittleFruits creates stuffed animals out of children’s drawings starting at $16. Just simply have the child draw a picture of their “dream stuffed animal” and the small business will make that dream come true.

For best friends, one of the most special gifts you can give is an experience gift. Devote a day to do something fun with your best friend whether it be a shopping spree and you pay for what they want, a fun day to paint some pottery at Creative Hands or a night at the Coyote Drive-in. This gift is a great idea because not only is it fun for you and your friend but it is a way to create some great memories.

Secret Santa, White elephant, and even the random girl in the hallway are the hardest gifts out of them all because you have to make sure it’s something not too over the top but also a gift that will wow them. This is where Target comes into play. Target has $10 blankets and $5 coffee mugs. And to make this extra special, bake some cookies and add it to the mug to add a little spice to it. 

With the circumstances we are in this year, there is a high possibility that you won’t be able to give many gifts out to people. But if it’s someone you really want to give a gift to, don’t be discouraged. There is always a way. A simple idea could be to create a gif out of a picture you might have and send it to them with a $10 Apple Pay or Venmo. But if you want something a little more special send them a box of Crumbl Cookies to be delivered at their doorstep fresh the morning of Christmas.

This Christmas is going to be different, that’s for sure. But that doesn’t mean it needs to be any less special. A memorable gift goes a long way and is something that can be savored forever. But one thing is for sure a price never shows the love it’s the thought that is put in it and with these gifts, you for sure will show that.
